Correcting a previous review.

I left a 1 star review a couple of days ago on this product and company. I need to correct that and set the record straight. The decal I received had visual marks and creases. I sent photos and a description to their email address. Several days, a week goes by. No response. I assumed I was being ignored. When I arrived home this evening from work, there was a package awaiting me. They sent a replacement no questions asked I do wish they had sent me an email, to let me know they were sending one., but they absolutely made it right. Let me note, there is no way this was made and shipped after my initial review. This was already in transit to me. My most sincere apologies to the sellers. I will order from them again in the future (if they will accept and order from me). Again, to the sellers, sorry for the negative review. It’s nice to still see people that care and make things right. Tom

Disappointed in quality.

The decal I received is of very poor quality. There are pattern lines that look like feed system wheels slipped on it causing patterns. In addition there are creases set in the material that will not come out. These are in a pattern as well. Photos show both of these conditions. The really frustrating part is I have been trying to get in contact with JEEP DECAL STORE for well over a week now. I can not get any response. I have started a claim with PayPal reguarding the issue, they also have not responded to that notice as well. I am now in the process of escalating with PayPal for a refund. Buyer beware!

Avoid. Poor quality vinyl.

Unfortunately - this decal is a miss on several fronts. I have installed dozens of decals (used to work in the industry) and never have I seen a vinyl react as poorly as this did. I am not sure they use a high enough quality vinyl like Avery or 3m, but this decal simply would not contour around the front bulge of the hood. Laid it wet as I always do - heat did not help, after an hour of working it, I gave up. Do yourself a favor and avoid.

Struggled

I watched several videos on installing hood decals. They all looked easy so I bought this one. Unlike the others this one had a cover sheet over the decal as well as the backing. I got it positioned and started to squeegee the decal but I could never get all of the edges flat and had several kinks that no matter how I tried I could not get to lay flat. I fought and fought then gave up and tor the thing off and in the trash it went. I am not an idiot and am considered to be a very handy person but this thing won and I lost.

Jeepster

The folks that noted the gap around the washer/sprayers didn't read the notes in the order. They state pretty clearly that the gap is not going to be the best solution. Go with the solid decal. I took off the sprayer assembly; it is a pretty easy operation. The folks at the decal store are excellent. I will use them again. Call them if you get stuck; they are always more than willing to help. David

Do Not Get Cut Outs

The windshield washer cutouts do not match the hood perfectly and the gap around them is not even.

Excellent quality

Excellent quality... from an EXCELLENT sales vendor!!! Plus it looks GREAT and actually adds the function of cutting down hood glare!! Use baby shampoo water in a spray solution to apply makes this a breeze. Looks good after a few miles and some sun. Looks good.

Required Tools:
Retractable razor blade, Squeegee, Tape measure/ Ruler, Spray bottle full of alcohol.
Optional: For a less aggressive initial tack but longer drying time, you can spray the tacky surface of your decal and the surface of your vehicle to allow for flexibility in positioning. Allow at least 10 minutes of drying time. Be sure to check for tack before removing the transfer tape.

All surfaces must be considered dirty and must be cleaned before the application of the vinyl decal. Painted metals should be cleaned with an automotive detergent. Wipe the surface dry with a clean, dry, lint-free cloth.

Step 1: Tape in Place
Align the decal, and line the vinyl up with a horizontal line near it. Use a level to be sure it is straight and even. Place masking tape on the corners to hold it in place. Add a line of masking tape along the top of the decal once you are happy with the position - this is to prepare for hinging.

Step 2: Remove the Backing Paper
Hinge the decal toward masking tape and slowly peel the backing from the corner. Peel carefully from one side to the other and peel down until the backing paper is removed. Hold the center of the decal taught and keep the decal from touching the surface.

Step 3: Applying Your Decal
With a squeegee, starting at the center of the decal and working outward, firmly swipe down and out, pushing the vinyl onto the vehicle. Use smooth strokes from the center outward to push air bubbles out. Be sure to press every section of the decal down. Go over the decal again with your squeegee, ensuring it's applied.

Step 4: Remove Transfer Tape and Trim (if necessary)
Remove the application tape, keeping it flat with the surface. Do this process slowly, watching the decal applied to the surface correctly. Use a retractable razor blade trim along door openings and fold excess vinyl inward. Ensure the vinyl graphic has been applied completely and evenly on the vehicle.

Tip: If bubbling occurs, poke tiny dots with a sharp point of an exacto knife (careful not to cut or poke too hard) and smooth the vinyl down with your finger.
